8/5/2023 0 Comments Bloodhunt console release date![]() Something different, something specialīloodhunt is free-to-play and is will be available on PS5 at no cost. At the same time, it is important to us that the game is freely accessible to a large audience. ![]() With Bloodhunt, we aimed to create an engaging experience both visually and from a game design perspective, without compromising quality. Moreover, the speaker on the DualSense controller will bring the immersion up a notch with high fidelity sounds for consumables or when feeding on mortals. It lights up based on your team color or when you are tracked down by your opponents and thus bloodhunted, so keep an eye on it. The controller’s light also guides you through the game. As an example, shotguns have a heavy kick and trigger pull, while sub-machine guns can be tapped more easily but with a more intense jolt. The DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and vibrations allow us to make you truly feel the weight of the battle as you experience the impact of each powerful attack and weapon. The DualSense wireless controller features really allowed us to take Bloodhunt’s fast-paced, visceral gameplay to the next level of immersion, and we cannot wait for you to try it out. While hunting through the rainy streets of Prague, pinpointing enemy locations through audio has never been easier. Whether your enemies are sniping from the rooftops or a high rising tower crane you will be able to determine their location more accurately. The PS Tempest 3D Audio technology improves the possibilities of audio spatialization, by allowing you to localize enemies more precisely than ever before, even on a vertical axis. The PlayStation Tempest 3D Audio technology also really allows us to highlight one of Bloodhunt’s most unique features: verticality. In this way, the 3D audio helps you take strategic decisions on how to outsmart your opponents. With an expansive soundscape, the sound in Bloodhunt is vital as it allows you to identify nearby threats, or the direction bullets are being fired from. Especially when you have access to high-end headphones such as the PS5 Pulse 3D headset. Immersive audio technologyīloodhunt is set in modern Prague, a city with lots of landmarks, narrow streets and tall buildings, so when it comes to sound, we have had a lot of things to consider. We are incredibly pleased with how the final game looks on the PS5. Once converted into the game, this resulted in thousands of unique textures and assets, bringing the details of the city to life with an authentic flair. ![]() We took more than 10,000 pictures and scanned real-life items, all unique to Prague, such as two massive statues: the Jan Hus Memorial, and the statue of Charles IV, located at Křižovnické Square. Therefore, we sent our photogrammetry team to the Czech Republic, to source real-life assets that are now replicated in-game. Being able to achieve this of course requires a lot of attention to detail. Our vision was to create a representation of Prague that was as true-to-life as possible. Choose quality mode, for the best rendering quality running in 4K at 30fps, or performance mode, to experience Bloodhunt at 60fps rendered in 1440P. ![]() Importantly, you will battle to dominate the night in a highly detailed rendition of Prague. With the power of the PS5, we have been able to aim for our target of 60 frames per second, even in the battle’s most action-packed moments. Bloodhunt features fast and frantic multiplayer combat with a focus on agility.

8/5/2023 0 Comments Wake the dragon wow![]() The map doesn’t exactly fit together either, as it looks like a house right on top of a dragon’s lair, but the disparate themes hold together well enough for a good time of a game. The theme is of swords and dragons, but there’s almost an Indiana Jones feel to it as well, with your backpacks and artifacts. The dragon is also a wooden cutout, nothing special, but it really works for this game and is a fun piece. The cards have pretty solid art going on them, but the board and the tokens are a bit more cartoony, and the playing pieces are rather clunky wooden meeple. One of those games that makes less-than-stellar components work for it. See the dragon in the bottom right corner? Scary. It’s no more than you’d expect from a game like this, but not really less either. ![]() ![]() You need to sort some cards, sort some different tokens into their respective piles, and then set up the board with the tokens in the right spot. When the dragon attacks, you pull chits from the bag to see who took the damageĪbout a medium level of setup, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s less about bashing and more about stealing, and getting away with it. It captures a feeling of sneaking through a dungeon for loot, like Munchkin or Dungeon or Dungeon Roll, but there are no real monsters besides the bad old dragon. This is not the most in-depth strategic game, nor the one for the most serious gamers, but it’s strategic to where it’s not for non-gamers either. It seems like you could go through the game in 60-90 minutes with more experience, though of course, I don’t know if the game will hold up through that many plays, as it only has so much going on (though it has an expansion now). We got through a game in a couple of hours with 4 of us playing, 2 of us for the first time and none of us with a ton of experience. I appreciate that it’s easy to learn, and compared to a lot of stuff we play, it’s fairly quick. You’re a treasure-stealing thief type with your aim to be the one to get the most loot from the dragon’s treasure trove.Ī fun romp through a dungeon! This is a really good game, in the light and fun category, a bit like Colt Express in its overall tone. It’s a deck-building game with a dungeon map, treasure, and a fearsome dragon. This picture appears on page 82 of my Black Book. With only a couple of hours left for gaming after advancing our epic Pathfinder adventure, we were able to play through a game of Clank!: A Deck-Building Adventure (2016) and it was great fun. "Oh no." she said, letting out a grown like a roll of thunder. "Don't you know what today is? Don'ta ya? Don't ya?"Ī vague memory began trickling through Tuanu's brain, a memory of the last time she had been woken by the Arkengal. "Stop being such a lump!" A sharp hissing voice replied from somewhere over Tuanu's right eye. The thumping had started early that morning, and continued, consistantly, until noon, when Tuanu cracked an eye open and growled, "Who dares wake the Dragon?"

His finger was never in the trigger guard. Production on 'Rust' has resumed thanks to Matthew Hutchins' settlement in his wrongful death lawsuit against Alec Baldwin and other cast members, but the ongoing criminal investigation into the D.P.'s death has not been suspended. Ina previous statement to Good Morning America, Halls' attorney Lisa Torraco said, "Dave has told me since the very first day I met him that Alec did not pull that trigger. Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on the New Mexico set of the film 'Rust' Thursday, killing 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza, who was standing behind her. This claim has been backed up by the film's Assistant Director, David Halls. Alec Baldwin is speaking out about the slew of lawsuits filed over the fatal shooting on the set of his film 'Rust,' suggesting that those suing are only after money. Later, during an interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin claimed that he "didn't pull the trigger" on the gun, stating that he has no idea why or how it fired a live round. We were a very, very well-oiled crew shooting a film together and then this horrible event happened." The day I arrived in Santa Fe to start shooting, I took her to dinner with Joel, the director. "A woman died," he told the group, per Deadline. Following the incident, Baldwin released a statement on Twitter, and later he spoke to a group of photographers who were inquiring about the incident. Aug/ 4:51 PM / CBS News It has been nearly 10 months since actor Alec Baldwin's prop gun was discharged on a New Mexico film set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring. In addition to Hutchins' death, the incident also wounded the film's director, Joel Souza. The gun was initially not believed to be loaded with live rounds. In his first public comments since accidentally fatally shooting the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of a film, Rust, in New Mexico earlier this month, Alec Baldwin said on Saturday. Oct 27 (Reuters) - Lawsuits seeking to assign civil liability in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins would be most likely to name the 'Rust' crew member who inspected. 21, after a prop gun that actor Alec Baldwin was holding, was discharged. ![]() ![]() Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on the set of Rust on Oct. 8/5/2023 0 Comments Spelltower solverIt’s all about balancing the need to score highly with the need to keep the column heights as close together as possible, maximising word-making opportunities and avoiding the chance of an early Game Over.ĮX puzzle mode is the same only tougher, while Rush mode adds words over time, with a rising tide of blue - grey within the grid - releasing another row of letters once the wave hits the top. ![]() Puzzle mode adds a row every time you make a word, forcing you to choose your words wisely so as not to allow any letter towers to get out of control. Suddenly, the game grows tense as you need to plan your moves very carefully. While Tower mode essentially has you demolishing towers of letters, hopefully leaving as little word rubble as possible, the rest of the game modes ask you to do the opposite: stop columns from reaching the top of the screen. Tough letters can really boost your score, which might explain why PORKIES scored more highly than NEUTERED for me. Though scoring isn’t as transparent as some might like, it’s pretty obviously based on the length and letters used. Tower mode gives you a grid of 150 letters to get the highest points tally you can. The tutorial is over in less than a minute – and advertised as such – leaving you to get on with the various other modes. Meanwhile, letters like Q, X, and Z are highlighted, denoting the fact that they remove an entire row if they’re successfully used in a word. If you make a word with five letters or more, all the surrounding letters will also disappear from play. Others have a number in the corner, representing the minimum number of letters in the word you use to take them out. Some letters are blacked out, and you’ll need to make a word with adjacent letters to reveal them. You need to make words of three letters or more by tracing a path with your finger, moving it horizontally, vertically, or diagonally until all letters are selected, whereupon they’ll be removed from the board. Its core concept is as simple as they come. It gives both you and the letters room to breathe. ![]() ![]() SpellTower is currently planned for release on iPod touch and iPhone, but the extra space afforded by the larger iPad screen seems to really suit it. A grid of letters has rarely felt so attractive. Not just in its mechanics, but its aesthetic, which is clean, crisp, and refreshing. There’s a simple elegance at the heart of Zach Gage’s word game that makes it very appealing. ![]() While some currently argue that ‘safeguarding the scientific integrity of published articles’ is one of peer review’s core responsibilities, others argue that the system was never designed, nor meant to do so. However, the expectation and ability of the peer review system to detect fraudulent and erroneous research is contentious and has developed and changed over time. The system of peer reviewing research papers in particular has long been central to these notions of self-regulation. ![]() Sociologists of science in the tradition of Merton assumed that any form of research misconduct would sooner or later come to light due to scientists’ motivation to challenge competing knowledge claims via the peer review system, replication studies, or the presence of a whistle-blower, at least in as far as misconduct involves the misrepresentation of the research process. It has long been assumed that misconduct could hardly occur in the sciences due to well-established self-regulating mechanisms. Ī key issue in the debate on scientific integrity has been the extent to which processes of institutional self-regulation are able to track and prevent misconduct (e.g. Concerned scientists as well as policymakers increasingly express their worry about data manipulation, plagiarism, or questionable research practices that affect the functioning of science. This rising concern has become obvious in the media, in policy initiatives, as well as in scientific literature. Due to a perceived increase in scientific fraud and irreproducible research, some claim the publication system, or even science in general, to be in crisis. Recently, there has been heated debate on the quality, credibility and integrity of scientific literature. We pay detailed attention to the emergence of the expectation that peer review can maintain ‘the integrity of science’s published record’, demonstrating that this leads to tensions in the academic debate about the responsibilities and abilities of the peer review system. Finally, we give a systematisation of the range of discussed peer review forms. We analyse the rationale for developing new review forms and discuss how they have been implemented in the current system. We describe the emergence of current peer review forms by reviewing the scientific literature on peer review and by adding recent developments based on information from editors and publishers. At present, there is a clear need for a systematic analysis of peer review forms and the concerns underpinning them, especially considering a wave of experimentation fuelled by internet technologies and their promise to improve research integrity and reporting. In addition, peer review currently comes in a wide variety of forms, developed in the expectation they can address specific problems and concerns in science publishing. However, the allocation of responsibility for integrity to the peer review system is fairly recent and remains controversial. Among various mechanisms, the peer review system in particular is considered an essential gatekeeper of both quality and sometimes even integrity in science. A key concern in this debate has been the extent to which science is capable of self-regulation. Due to an apparent increase in cases of scientific fraud and irreproducible research, some have claimed science to be in a state of crisis. The quality and integrity of the scientific literature have recently become the subject of heated debate. ![]() And two of these three is completely aped from other games, so we’ll cover them first.Įxploration is Assassin’s Creed 2. Gameplay is split between three key parts: exploration, power manipulation, and combat. ![]() Still, the voice acting is superb (particularly from the wraith, who provides copious amounts of lore dumps everytime you do just about anything interesting, which I loved) and the story dark and interesting, and as a whole it drives the gameplay very well.īut let’s not fool ourselves: this is what you are here for. Yes, his connection with the wraith ends up making a good deal of sense, but the story felt stronger as an isolated incident within the universe, and attempting to connect it to the “greater whole” felt a bit pandering. The only thing that felt really out of place was the inclusion of Gollum. There’s also a rather in-depth backstory to your wraith buddy, one that got a lot of hardcore LOTR fans up in arms because “muh canon,” but all things considered I felt his story was actually a solid connection to the overall world (the game takes place in the break between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring). On the way you’ll meet a handful of interesting characters, human and dwarf (well, one dwarf, but he’s awesome so it makes up for a lot), though you’ll spend most of your time hanging around with orcs. Apparently stuck between life and death as well, Talion and his new ghost buddy journey to avenge the death of Talion’s family, find out what’s up with Ghost Dad, and finally be released from this limbo so Talion can be with his family in the West or wherever dead people go in Lord of the Rings. Until a magical ghost elf wraith brings him back to life. They’re murdered, Talion is murdered, everybody is sad. Why someone would take their family to Mordor is freaking beyond me, but as you can imagine it doesn’t end well. You play as Talion, a ranger (much like Strider/Aragorn) stationed in Mordor with his wife and kids. Martin A Game of Thrones style story than the somewhat sterilized Lord of the Rings franchise. Mordor’s grim story feels more in line with a George R. Which is a shame, considering how much better this game is than any other Lord of the Rings game that’s ever come out. Shadow of Mordor apparently didn’t start out as a Lord of the Rings game, and due to either licencing issues or lack of faith in the game it doesn’t even bare the film/book’s titles. – Attempts to include Gollum in the story feels misguided, especially since there are no other characters from LOTR “canon” in the story – Like Assassin’s Creed, quests can get a little repetitive after a while – Also also it’s completely gone from the 360/PS3 versions, which is pretty rough – Also the best addition to it (branding/mind controlling Orc leaders) is locked until the last third of the game – Nemesis system at times feels more like an experiment than a fleshed out mode – Nemesis system is a good start to what could be a defining system in future open world games – Story is compelling and the voice acting superb – While it may blaspheme a few parts of the LOTR mythos, it is clear the writers did their research – Lots of stuff to do, with two different locations within Mordor to explore – Graphics are gorgeous, showcasing the potential for next gen – Perfect medley of the Batman: Arkham games and Assassin’s Creed Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor was reviewed on the PC version of the game 8/5/2023 0 Comments Rss feed npr hourly news![]() Built on peer-to-peer technology licensed from Microsoft Research, LiveStation will allow broadcasters to distribute live audio and video to a potential audience of hundreds of millions of broadband connected consumers at a much reduced cost.
